We purchased Athena with the dual purpose of showing her and eventually adding her to our broodmare band. What drew us to her wasn’t just her lineage of flashy show records, but the proven versatility in her pedigree. Her dam excelled across multiple disciplines—reining, barrel racing, pole bending, halter, english events, and more—while safely carrying a teenage rookie rider through countless events with calmness and dependability. Combined with the influence of her sire, Colonels Shining Gun (who doesn’t need much of an introduction); Athena represents the perfect balance we strive for: a horse fancy enough to compete at the open level, yet quiet-minded and trustworthy enough for a beginner or non pro.

As a 2-year-old, Athena sustained an injury that set her training back. Rather than pushing her, we chose to give her time to heal & introduced her into our breeding program the following year instead. With her strong pedigree and kind disposition, she is already proving her value as a broodmare. Our goal is to bring her back to the show pen later on, where she will continue to carry forward the vision of our program both as a competitor and as a producer.
