Mare Power

At our ranch, we take pride in breeding mares with exceptional bloodlines. Our mares are descended from legendary horses such as Shining Spark, A Sparkling Vintage, Wimpys Little Step, Nu Chex To Cash, High Brow Cat, Spooks Big Bang, Not Ruf At All, Like a Diamond, Colonels Shining Gun, Colonels Smoking Gun, Custom Chrome, and many others. These bloodlines have been carefully selected for their athleticism, intelligence, and trainability, and we believe that they contribute to producing top-quality reining horses. We are dedicated to preserving and improving these bloodlines through responsible breeding practices and careful selection of stallions.

While we acknowledge that our location in Canada may limit the competitive showing potential of our mares, we are committed to ensuring that they receive proper training and development. Prior to breeding, all of our mares undergo training and are shown to ensure that they have a steady temperament and are well-rounded in their abilities. We believe that this approach not only ensures that we produce top-quality reining horses, but also helps to maintain the integrity of the bloodlines we work with.

Sweet Little Catstep’s dam is Catristol, who is a daughter of High Brow Cat. High Brow Cat’s offspring have earned over $87 million across various disciplines, including cutting, cow horse, and barrel racing.

Roo’s dam, Diamonds On The Horizon was non-pro trained and proved to be extremely willing and talented. She had a huge stop, great turn around, and a naturally low head carriage. Due to no fault of her own, she was only shown in one training show before transitioning to her broodmare career. Diamonds On The Horizons sire was Like a Diamond, a 1992 Paint stallion (Grays Starlight x Diamond Jewel Wood). Although he did not achieve extensive success in the show pen (earnings of around $10,000), Like a Diamonds offspring have dominated not only reining but a variety of other western disciplines as well. His progeny crossed the $1 million NRHA earnings mark, earning numerous major titles in the process.

Some of Diamonds On The Horizons half siblings include: RR Star (NRHA LTE $222,752), RU Missin Diamonds (NRHA LTE $144,487), Premier Diamond (NRHA LTE $66,846), Gunnin For Diamonds (NRHA LTE $66,204), Diamonds A Shining (NRHA LTE $40,000).

Roo’s sire, Spooks Big Bang (By Spooks Gotta Gun) has Lifetime Earnings in excess of $47,000 and is still actively showing. He is an extremely talented and proven nice minded stud. Spooks Gotta Gun (Grays Starlight x Katie Gun) had a lifetime earnings of $81,000 and was a NRHA TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPION SIRE. His offspring earnings exceed $2,891,000

We are very excited to start Roo in her training this year. This fabulous filly has the perfect temperament for reining or cutting.

COLONELS SHINING GUN , or “JoJo” as he’s affectionately known, started his show career in the USA and went on to dominate Europe. His foals look phenomenal, and their reining performances are dominating on two continents with earnings. “Jojo” is a direct son of Colonels Smoking Gun aka “Gunner.”

Gunner’s impact on the reining industry is truly remarkable. He has sired over 1,700 foals, many of whom have become champions themselves. His offspring have earned over $11 million in NRHA competition, and they have also excelled in other disciplines, such as cutting, reined cow horse, and ranch riding.

Gunner’s success as a sire is due in part to his exceptional athleticism, conformation, and temperament. He passed on these qualities to his offspring, along with his signature sliding stops, spins, and quick turns. His offspring are known for their trainability, soundness, and competitive spirit, making them highly sought after by reining and performance horse enthusiasts around the world.

According to the people who knew the stallion best, it’s never hard to identify a son or daughter of Gunner: they either share his distinctive chrome markings, carry his gentle demeanor or project his presence from the first moment they step into the show pen.

Overall, Gunner’s impact on the reining industry is unparalleled. His legacy as a champion performer, exceptional sire, and ambassador for the sport will continue to inspire and influence the industry for generations to come.
